Thraxil Feature Idea

I think it might be neat if thraxil was able to accept asian language imput. I know this may seem irrelevant and picky, but my brain has a hard time communicating without characters anymore. Thoughts?

Well, I had heard for a long time how nice IE was on the Mac. Standards compliance being one of the best parts about it. But I’m noticing other little things that I really like. For one, on drop down menus, the text in the menu expands to show the whole thing. Simple little feature, but pretty handy when looking at the recent comments menu on Thraxil. In addition, it’s cookie managment is quite good, although it’s missing some privacy features that are in the 6.0 version for the PC. Hopefully those will be added soon.

The more I use OS X, the more impressed I am. Now if only this damn thing had a right mouse button.

went up to harlem again to visit craig and the wife and and baby (19 days old now) and have dinner and beers with coworkers.
for dinner we ordered out from the soul food restaurant across the street. i was amused to see on the menu, under the “Salads and Vegan Corner” section of the menu that the first item was “grilled chicken with greens”. the next item under it was “fried jumbo shrimp”. now, call me daft, but when did chicken and shrimp become vegetarian foods, let alone vegan?
maybe us vegetarians just have a different definition of what “vegetarian” food is than the rest of the world. to me, it means, very simply: no meat. that’s it. not too complicated a definition. pretty easy to classify foods with it. from what i’ve seen of menu’s (particularly in chinese restaurants), a significant portion of the non-vegetarian world considers vegetarian food to be “it’s got something in it that’s not meat.” like “grilled chicken and greens” has some vegetables in it so it must be vegetarian. almost every chinese restaurant i’ve been in in new york has, in the “vegetarian dishes” section of the menu the item “spicy bean curd with meat”.
i’m not going to rant on now about how restaurants should have more vegetarian items on the menu or anything, but for the love of god, stop putting meat dishes in the vegetarian section of the menu.

Well, I now have in my possession, a sleek new G4 Titanium Powerbook. I’ve had much disdain for Apple over the years, but they really did a great job with this system. Everything about it is just soooooo slick. The screen is huge, the system is light, the ports on it are plentiful (Mmmmmm firewire), and the GUI is beautiful…plus it has a command line. Wheee!!!!

I’m really, not worthy. But I’m in computing bliss nonetheless.

i will shamelessly admit that half my drive to pursue the sciences came from watching ‘real genius’ one too many times as a child. and that the true allure of being a chem major had to be the liquid nitrogen…or the dry ice…or the ether…or the absolute ethanol…anyway, all i ever wanted was to make fun and almost useless things (i still do…my sister and i decided yesterday to try to make a motion sensitive alarm clock that will run away when you try to hit it for her science project). but now the opportunity is budding, and i am scared out of my mind. i’m planning on moving in with three people from the center. our stats will be: 3 chemists, 1 engineer; 50% PhDs. The guys already tried bidding for an EEG on ebay. Thank god they were out-bid. I’m going to wake up one day in restraints with electrodes attached to my newly shorn head. i am scared, yet strangely turned on.

went up to a coworker’s for “practice thanksgiving” with a bunch of people. basically just turkey and lots of food without the pressure and annoyance of dealing with holiday traffic or relatives (being a vegetarian, i didn’t partake in the turkey but contented myself with salad, mashed potatoes and some damn good yams).

while we were there life turned into a sitcom. Ben (the host), realized at one point that it was his girlfriend’s birthday and he’d completely forgotten about it. sitting in a new york apartment during a party while one person desperately tries to figure out ways to bluff like he really knew about her birthday all along is about as close as my life has ever been to being a badly written sitcom. if we’d had a laugh track and some wacky neighbors we would have been all set.

ok, i have four hours to figure out what a cocktail dress is and furthermore how to dress to impress but not out-do the bosses wife. actually, i don’t really care about that…i’m more trying to figure out if my vintage dresses are cocktail or formal…if it breaks at the natural waistline into a full skirt, does that mean it’s just from the 50’s or does that mean it’s formal. i feel like this is some random information that Kamden would know. Kam? Kam? what time is it in China?

A very nice post about a movie I saw last night (Amelie) was eaten by the evil nasty preview only button. Bookmarks don’t have ‘em. Image upload don’t have ‘em. DIARY HAS ‘EM. Weep. Cry. Moan. Wail. Conflate all my life’s minor failures and dissappointments into one single node of regret… and you have ‘preview’.

Shit. This is better than what I was going to say about the movie. Thanks ‘preview’ button. You’re an inspiration.

…leads to that point when we have to test everything that is new to us. Smell it, Taste it, Touch it, Play with it, Break it…

What I just tried to say is, that I am only curious if this diary feature of thraxil works for me, too.
